Inspector and Registers window

The inspector and the Registers window provide a way to see information from the header and thread state sections of a report at all time. The information is also, hopefully, presented in a more human friendly way.

Inspector

The inspector pane presents the main information available in the header section of the reports.

When using the outline mode for reports, the inspector is the only way to see the main information from the header section.

To show the executable in the Finder:

1Click the Show in Finder button.

Notes:
  • The Show in Finder button will not be enabled if the executable location does not point to an existing file.
  • If the report is from another computer, the executable shown in the Finder may not be the same version as the one in the report.
  • The location of the executable in the Inspector may be more accurate than the one in the original report.

Registers window

The Registers window presents the thread state section of the reports.

Registers
Fig.2 - Registers window

The Registers window floats above the other windows and can have a horizontal or vertical layout.

The Registers window is useful for text reports when you don't want scroll down and up frequently to check the values of the registers and the crashed thread backtrace. With outline reports, it is the only way to see the values of the registers.

To switch between the horizontal layout and the vertical one:

1Choose Window > Zoom

The values of the registers can be cast to one of the following "types":

Boolean
Decimal
Float
Hex
Octal
Unsigned decimal

To cast the value of a register to a different "type":

1Click the popup menu of the register.
2Choose the "type".
